Ben Affleck Recalls a Special Day with Tom Brady While Promoting ‘The Accountant 2’
Ben Affleck is making headlines again as he promotes his latest film, The Accountant 2, a sequel to the highly regarded original film released nearly a decade ago. Alongside Affleck, the movie also features acclaimed actor Jon Bernthal. During his promotional tour, including a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Affleck humorously noted how his teenage children often critique his past movie roles, including his 1998 classic, Armageddon.
A Memorable Moment with Tom Brady
Affleck’s appearance on the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce shifted focus from movie critiques to a powerful personal anecdote. He revealed that one of his greatest experiences in life—rivaling the births of his children—was a casual day spent in the company of legendary Quarterback Tom Brady.
While vacationing in the same area as Brady, the two shared an impromptu football catch. Affleck reminisced about this encounter, stating, “I don’t know if they have a name,” when asked about the routes Brady instructed him to run. The actor humorously admitted he probably “disgraced every receiver that’s ever run a route.”
A Touching Experience
Continuing the story, Affleck elaborated on an exciting moment during that day. He recounted Brady setting the scene: “It’s the Super Bowl, fourth quarter, we have 23 seconds, it’s fourth and 18.” Brady directed Affleck to “just run straight, don’t turn around, I’m gonna get you the ball in the end zone.”
With excitement in his voice, Affleck described the thrill of catching the ball, saying, “I f—— catch the ball.” This moment, filled with adrenaline and joy, left a lasting impression on him, which he referred to as “the nicest thing anyone’s ever done for me.”
Release of ‘The Accountant 2’
The Accountant 2 hit theaters nationwide on April 25, 2025, and has received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. As he balances his professional endeavors with personal anecdotes, Affleck continues to engage fans with both his cinematic pursuits and heartfelt stories.
